EGMHA has launched this new site to improve communication with our association members and with the minor hockey community as a whole.
The EGMHA site was originally designed by me back in 2001. Since then it has grown under the care of a few webmasters, and while a lot of information has been added, no significant changes to the structure of the site have occurred since that time.
Today, the executive has defined many uses for the website for both public and internal use. Areas have been defined for schedules, standings, contacts, player, official and coach development, photographs, marketing, and internal documents.
Goals:
- To improve website navigation. To make it easier for public users to find the information they are looking for.
- To eliminate the dependence of the executive on a single webmaster to update the site.
- To separate the content from the look of the site, by putting articles in a database, if the look of the site changes, the articles will remain intact.
- To provide a search feature for our visitor's convenience.
- To create private areas for referees, timekeepers and teams to share information on password protected pages.·
